Jurgen was born and raised in a small town in southern Germany.  He was confirmed in the Lutheran Church at the age of 14.  It was about that time that a little baptist work was started in a neighboring town by 2 missionaries from the USA.  Because Jurgen's father had many questions and they weren't being answered in the state church, he decided to take his family to check out the Baptist Church.  The 2 missionaries could barely speak German, but his heart was touched and within a short amount of time, he was the first convert in the church.  Jurgen followed soon thereafter when he realized that being a member and baptised in the state church was not going to save him.  The rest of the family then followed and were saved and baptized.  Jurgen spent his teenage years there, but felt the call of God on his life.  When he was 19, he packed up and headed towards Springfield, Missouri to attend Baptist Bible College.  It was there that he met his wife, Sherri.

Sherri was born and raised in Indianapolis, Indiana.   At the age of 11, she asked the Lord to be her Savior.  She really didn't understand everything until she started attending Baptist Academy her freshman year of high school.  From there, she was baptized and became a part of Villa Baptist Church.  At 18 she felt that God was leading her to go to Baptist Bible College.  One thing was certain.  She was not going to be a missionary and she wanted nothing to do with Germans.  God had different plans for her life.  Sherri met Jurgen and slowly God started changing her heart.  They were married and moved to Germany in October of 1989.  They started a church in Munsingen, Germany in 1995 and have been faithfully serving there all these years.
